CSP sees 2-time increase in deadly crashes for drivers 70 or older

DENVER (KDVR) — The Colorado State Patrol said that it has seen deadly crashes with drivers over 70 years old increase by two times over the last four years, according to a press release from the agency on Monday morning.

Older Driver Safety Awareness Week starts on Dec. 1 and lasts through Dec. 5.

CSP said that driving often equates to independence for people 70 or older, and while many of them are the most experienced drivers around, Father Time does not slow down, and the effects of getting older can result in safety concerns.
