(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Christkindlmarket, a traditional German Christmas market, will make its debut at Bancroft Park in Old Colorado City starting on Thursday, Dec. 11, featuring 10 handcrafted wooden vendor huts, authentic German food, drinks, and cultural entertainment.
The market will take place from Thursday, Dec. 11, through Sunday, Dec. 14, and Thursday, Dec. 18, through Tuesday, Dec. 23, from noon to 8 p.m. at Bancroft Park, located at 2408 West Colorado Avenue in Old Colorado City.
Scheduled special events take place on the following nights:
- Dec. 11: Soft Opening Day
- Dec. 12: Tree lighting and opening ceremony
- Dec. 13: St. Nikolaus Day – take holiday pictures with St. Nik
- Dec. 14: Family Day
- Dec. 18: Trachten Nacht – $2 off Glühwein and beer (not including mugs) for anyone wearing traditional Dirndl and Lederhosen
- Dec. 19: Krampus Nacht
- Dec. 21: Family Day
- Dec. 22: Military Appreciation Day
- Dec. 23: Ugly Christmas Sweater Day – $2 off Glühwein and beer (not including mugs) for anyone wearing their ugliest Christmas sweater
Christkindlmarket is brought by the German American Chamber of Commerce – Colorado Chapter after 25 years of success in Denver.
