Sweet Home Motorcyclist Dies in Crash Near Lebanon

A Sweet Home resident died after their motorcycle left Bellinger Scale Road, traveled 190 feet into a ditch, and struck a tree; alcohol and speed suspected.

Lebanon, OR. — The Linn County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Saturday evening outside Lebanon.

Sheriff Michelle Duncan said dispatchers received a 911 call around 6:37 p.m. reporting that a motorcycle had crashed into a yard near the 32200 block of Bellinger Scale Road. Deputies arrived to find that a 2007 Yamaha had failed to negotiate a corner, left the roadway, and continued roughly 190 feet into a ditch before hitting a small tree.

The rider, identified as Lani Lill, 53, of Sweet Home, was thrown from the motorcycle and located in nearby bushes. Medics from the Lebanon Fire District responded but pronounced Lill dead at the scene…
