Mayor Wilson says Portland has reached 1,500 shelter bed goal

PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – Portland Mayor Keith Wilson announced Monday he has met his deadline to add 1,500 emergency overnight shelter beds in the city, completing the goal with a final cluster of nearly 500 beds.

The mayor says the city reached the target on the day of his self-imposed deadline, which was Dec. 1.

In a release, the city said the emergency overnight shelter capacity will reach 1,566 beds with a new cluster of 476 beds…
