Accidental fire at Asheville gem shop leaves owner severely burned, fire marshal says

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — One person was injured after a fire erupted Friday morning at a gem shop in Asheville, officials confirmed.

Around 9:45 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, emergency crews responded to Asheville’s Best Gem Mine on Sardis Road after flames were seen at the back of the building.

One person, identified by the business as the owner, was rushed to the hospital with severe burns and remains in the ICU with second- and third-degree burns…
