Boston cops had their hands full heading into Thanksgiving as a wave of violent and drug-fueled arrests swept across the city.
Around 3:19 p.m. Wednesday in Dorchester, officers rushed to 262 E 8th Street after reports that a masked man clutching his waistband had stormed into a Bodega. An officer spotted the suspect outside and tried to stop him — but he bolted, kicking off a backyard chase through Knowlton Street. Cops finally cornered him and slapped on the cuffs.
The suspect, 28-year-old Dempsey Allen of Milford, was already wanted on a warrant from Boston Municipal Court for Armed Robbery, Assault and Battery, and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, plus a second warrant out of Suffolk Superior Court for Trafficking of Cocaine and Possession of Class A. A search turned up 68 grams of Fentanyl, 29 grams of Crystal Meth, 5 grams of Crack Cocaine, a scale with residue, and 1,124 dollars cash.
