EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – For the rest of the afternoon, expect partly cloudy skies with temperatures ranging in the lower 30s. Expect partly to mostly cloudy skies tonight with temperatures dropping into the lower 20s.
The first half of Monday will be pretty quiet with increasing cloud cover. Temperatures will top out in the upper 30s. We will be on alert Monday night into Tuesday morning as another round of some wintry mix and snow is likely.
Precipitation will likely start off as light wintry mix showers Monday night before transitioning to snow/snow showers late into the overnight hours. There is still a good bit of uncertainty regarding snow/sleet amounts, but in general, accumulations will be relatively light. A widespread coating to 1″ is likely but pockets of 1-2″ may be possible depending on where localized banding sets up. Right now, the locations with the best chance to see over 1″ is along and north of the Ohio River. However, some models continue to trend southward which would also shift the area of heaviest snow southward. So continue to check back for updates through Monday. While some freezing rain/drizzle is possible, amounts should be fairly light. A few hundredths of an inch is possible mainly south of the Ohio River.
