Lebanon man accused of using stolen identity to steal $6K from local credit union

LEBANON, Pa. — A Lebanon man is facing fraud and identity theft charges after police claim he used a fraudulently altered driver’s license and a forged U.S. Treasury check to bilk a local bank out of $6,000.

Nytel Abdul Defendini, 50, is charged with felony counts of identity theft, theft by deception, access device fraud, and forgery, plus a misdemeanor count of violations concerning licenses, following an investigation by South Lebanon Township Police, who filed the charges on Nov. 7, according to the criminal complaint affidavit.

Police say that on Oct. 15, Defendini entered the Lebanon Federal Credit Union on East Evergreen Road and opened an account. He allegedly presented a fraudulently altered Illinois driver’s license that displayed his photo, but was under the name of Andrew Schroder…
