Delta Township put a millage on the November ballot that would have continued to fund transit operating agreements, but 53% of voters shot it down. Both agencies cite funding shortfalls at either a state or local level as the reason behind the cuts, which are set to begin Monday, Jan. 12.
CATA Route 3 will see significant changes in both routing and scheduling, including:
- Outbound trips will terminate at the Lansing Mall, and inbound trips will begin at the Meijer on W Saginaw Highway. Approximately 30 stops will go out of service.
- All inbound trips to the CATA Transportation Center will depart 22 or 23 minutes earlier.
- Route 3 service will end around 23 minutes earlier each day
- The 5:30 a.m. weekday trip leaving the CATA Transportation Center for Saginaw and Waverly will go out of service.
- After 6 a.m., weekday Capitol Loop trips will all depart 8 minutes later.
Additionally, CATA Spec-Tran will no longer operate in the area between Creyts Road and Nixon Road. Instead, service will extend as far as the Kroger located on W Saginaw Highway…
