An Ocala man was arrested for DUI when an officer found him sitting on a median with his motorcycle behind him in the turn lane.
An officer found a black motorcycle with its tailights on sitting in the turn lane from U.S. Hwy. 441 onto Perkins Street at 11:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. Directly in front of it sat 53-year-old Raynaldo Torres on the concrete median, still wearing a helmet and motorcycle goggles.
Due to the circumstances, the officer parked behind the motorcycle and identified himself as police, the report said. Torres stated he did not do anything, and the officer asked if he knew where he was three times. On the fourth try, Torres responded, “Ocala.”
He believed he was headed home and stated the motorcycle belonged to him. It was still on and running, and he stated he parked it in the area. But he was unaware of which city he was in and had delayed responses to the officer’s questions.
