PITTSBURGH — A police pursuit that began in Butler County ended in a deadly officer-involved shooting on Interstate 279 late Saturday, according to KDKA-TV.
A PennDOT spokesperson told KDKA-TV that southbound Interstate 279 was shut down for several hours near the Camp Horne Road exit as law enforcement responded to what they described as “police activity.”
KDKA-TV reported that multiple police agencies chased an SUV into Allegheny County before the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to flip several times. Moments after the crash, at least one person inside the SUV opened fire, prompting an officer to return fire.
