San Jose police on Monday announced the arrest of a 17-year-old boy accused of carrying out what police said was a gang-motivated triple shooting that caused chaos at the busy Westfield Valley Fair Mall on Black Friday.
The suspect was arrested late Sunday night at a home in the city, Police Chief Paul Joseph said during a news conference Monday afternoon.
Santa Clara District Attorney Jeff Rosen said his prosecutors plan to file charges Wednesday against the teen, as well as a 21-year-old woman with “familial” ties who was also arrested.
