SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) -While November is typically our driest month of the year, with an average of 2.39″ of rain expected in the month, this November has been woefully dry. We picked up 0.01″ of rain on November 9th and a few “trace” days recorded at the airport.
That marks a tie for the driest November on record. The previous driest November was 0.01″ in 1922.
We also had the second driest April this year as well with only .25″ of rain. However, we had triple the amount of rainfall we usually get the following month in May.
With that said, all of the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry are under some level of drought according to the weekly drought monitor…
