Syracuse’s police watchdog board missed 57 cases, and the number could be higher

Syracuse, N.Y. – A citizen-comprised board responsible for monitoring Syracuse police conduct has had at least 57 cases expire before they could be reviewed.

Citizen Review Board officials told Syracuse common councilors Monday the number of cases that it won’t be able to review could be even higher.

State law requires complaints against police to be addressed within 18 months of the incident…
