CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The powerful winter storm over Thanksgiving weekend delivered heavy snowfall across the state, especially north of I-80, where many areas reported over a foot of snow.
Here in eastern Iowa, a few locations stood out.
Waterloo and Cedar Falls received 14.5″ of snow, marking the third largest storm on record over a two-day period in Waterloo.
Cedar Rapids reported 10-12″ by end of day Saturday, breaking the record for the most snow in a single day during the month of November. This storm ranks as the second largest early-season snowfall since 1893.
Cedar Rapids typically averages 2.2″ of snow for the entire month of November, but this storm delivered six times that amount, in just two days (Friday and Saturday).
