Ridgeland officials to consider removing fluoride from water

RIDGELAND, Miss. (WLBT) – Ridgeland officials could be taking the initial steps to remove fluoride from the drinking water.

The mayor and Board of Aldermen are slated to meet on Tuesday, and according to a copy of that meeting’s agenda, the board is expected to consider a proposal to “initiate Step 1 of the MSDH Fluoridation Discontinuation Process.”

A memo from Public Works Director Alan Hart says the vote would not discontinue the use of fluoride but would rather begin “the state-mandated review process” for removing it…
