A fire occurred late on November 30, 2024, in a two-story multi-family housing unit on the 1400 block of Wheeler Road. According to officials, the fire started in a bathroom exhaust fan. Firefighters arrived at about 10:30 PM. Residents were evacuating, and alarms were sounding when crews arrived.
The resident reported that the fan was running when a breaker tripped. He found a fire in the ceiling above the fan and called 911. Firefighters found smoldering insulation above the fan.
