UMC EMS warns parents about common car seat mistakes ahead of holiday travel

LUBBOCK, Texas– With Thanksgiving travel wrapping up and Christmas trips about to begin, UMC EMS is urging parents to double-check their car seats and follow Texas safety laws, saying improper installation remains one of the most common issues seen on crash scenes.

UMC EMS Training Chief Chad Curry says his crews routinely respond to calls where children are not properly secured.

“Not installed properly. That’s probably one of the biggest things,” Curry said.
