NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is trying to identify and arrest at least three suspects in a Thanksgiving night business burglary. The case is the latest one to roll on the Wheel of Justice.
According to the NOPD, the crime happened around 11:30 on Thanksgiving night at the Popeyes Chicken in the 2000 block of Gentilly Boulevard. Much of what happened was recorded by security camera footage that was released by police.

In the video, a sedan is seen arriving at the business. About three minutes later, the thieves used a sledgehammer to smash the drive through window glass. Inside, according to police, the suspects removed the cash registers from the wall and tried to defeat the business’ safe.
But police say that all the thieves’ efforts netted nothing because the business didn’t have any cash inside at the time.
