Snow is still falling across Kansas City, and crews are continuing to plow and treat streets. Road conditions will remain challenging while snow continues to fall, and everyone is encouraged to slow down, allow extra travel time, and use caution on the roads.
After pre-treating roads over the last two nights, City crews have now transitioned to 24/7 operations to respond to this storm. The goal is to have roads cleared within 24 to 48 hours after snowfall ends, and teams are working steadily across the city to keep priority routes passable.
To continue prioritizing snow operations and driver safety, Solid Waste services like trash, recycling, leaf & brush and bulky item collection will not take place on Monday, December 1 or Tuesday, December 2. Monday’s services are cancelled, and Tuesday’s services are postponed by one day.
