Drivers still claim to be unaware of Colorado’s ‘Move Over’ law

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (KDVR) — The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office released the results of its Colorado Move Over Law Enforcement Operation with the Colorado State Patrol. The operation was in honor of fallen trooper Cody Donahue, who was hit and killed on the shoulder of I-25.

Thirty-two deputies targeted areas like Interstate 25, C-470 and Highway 85 on Wednesday. Despite all the awareness campaigns, signage and social media posts, they noted 76 violations in one day. Those included 66 citations and 10 warnings.

“It tells me that people are not moving over largely,” said Division Chief of Patrol Joel White.
