SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane County expanded its shelter system to 1,038 beds, but local data shows the region still does not have enough space to meet current demand during cold weather.
According to data from the City of Spokane and Spokane County, the 2025 shelter bed inventory now includes 1,038 total beds. The increase comes after 50 year-round beds were added last week across four scattered shelter sites operated by Compassionate Addiction Treatment (CAT), the YWCA and Revive.
Total beds breakdown:
- 917 year-round beds,
- 32 overflow beds,
- 89 inclement-weather beds
