PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A California man has been convicted in the 2022 shooting death that left his twin brother dead outside a Portland hotel.
A Multnomah County jury found 29-year-old Martre Tirik Oliver guilty of manslaughter in the first degree on Monday.

His brother, Martese Oliver, was found shot and killed outside a hotel near the 8200 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard. U.S. Marshals then arrested Martre three days later outside his home in Renton, Washington.
The hotel, which was operating as a Howard Johnson Inn at the time and was later rebranded as a Quality Inn, has a long history of deadly shootings and has since shut down.
According to the Oregonian, the brothers had driven there together from Martese’s apartment in Reston to accompany two women who were being sold for sex. After they got into a fight and Martese punched him, Martre responded by firing three gunshots…
