Cumberland County deputy involved in shooting woman holding knife identified, sheriff’s office says

The Cumberland County deputy who shot a person at the end of November has been identified.

The SBI said the incident happened around 6:30 p.m. on November 25 in the 6700 block of Camden Road, a Fayetteville address in the Hope Mills area. The sheriff’s office said Corporal Tyreek Brown responded to a domestic call.

When he arrived, Brown came across a woman with a knife. Deputy Brown told the woman to drop the knife, but she lunged toward the deputy with the knife, CCSO said…
