Cumberland County, North Carolina, will open a White Flag Shelter and several warming centers during the week of December 1, 2025. The City of Fayetteville and local partners are supporting this effort. The initiative responds to forecasts of below-freezing temperatures. Warming centers will open on December 3 and December 5. Locations include the Cumberland County Department of Social Services, Department of Public Health, all eight public libraries, Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation Centers, the FAST Transit Lobby, and The Salvation Army of the Sandhills.
