Shots fired in crash on US 421 in Kernersville; 19-year-old charged

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. (WGHP) — A 19-year-old is facing charges after being accused of shooting a gun following a crash on US 421 in Kernersville, according to the Kernersville Police Department.

At around 5:39 p.m. on Sunday, officers came to the area of US 421 South between Exit 221 for Macy Grove Road and Exit 208 for Sandy Ridge Road after getting a report of a vehicle crash and shots fired.

At the scene, police took the suspect, 19-year-old Landyn Everett Palmatier, into custody and charged him with the following:

  • Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill
  • Discharging a Firearm into an occupied property
  • Town ordinance violation

Palmatier is being held under no bond…
