KALAMAZOO, Mich. — As winter weather picks up, two nonprofit groups in Kalamazoo are joining forces so people have a safe and warm place to sleep at night.

Beginning Monday, Ministry with Community (MWC) and Housing Resources Incorporated (HRI) will offer emergency overnight winter shelter services.
Kalamazoo County, the City of Kalamazoo, and the Kalamazoo County Continuum of Care (part of United Way of South Central Michigan) together provided $700,000 to fund the effort, according to program officials.
