A paramedic is speaking out after helping save a 7-year-old girl whose family’s house caught fire on Thanksgiving while he was off duty.
The two-story duplex caught fire shortly before midnight on Nov. 27 after two large trees went up in flames in front of the building on W. Oakwood Avenue, according to a Facebook post shared by the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Richard Recinos, an off-duty paramedic, spotted the blaze in the Larchmont neighborhood while returning home from spending the holiday with his family, CW affiliate KTLA reported. After approaching the scene, he spotted a young girl on the porch — just feet away from the raging fire…
