MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — The Waccamaw Economic Opportunity Council (WEOC) is opening a new Head Start center in Myrtle Beach, addressing the critical need for accessible, high-quality education.
The center offers childcare and development services free of cost to eligible children and qualified families. This will be the only Head Start center located within the city of Myrtle Beach, and east of the Intracoastal Waterway.
“Our mission has always been clear: a child’s potential should not be determined by their household’s income or zip code,” said WEOC Head Start/Early Head Start Director Carletta Scott Isreal. “The launch of this center is a crucial step in fulfilling our promise to the Waccamaw region, ensuring that every child has access to high-quality early childhood development that will go on to serve as their foundation for lifelong success.” …
