MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR)- The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is reminding drivers to slow down in school zones.
LiDAR cameras (Light Detection and Ranging) were installed at county public schools to detect vehicles speeding in designated school zones. It’s part of the department’s School Zone Safety Program. Drivers who exceed the posted speed limit by ten or more miles per hour will receive an automated civil citation in the mail.
