Bedford County, Virginia has announced several updates for December 2025. These include changes to office hours, holiday closures, community events, and opportunities for residents to participate in local programs.
The Treasurer and Commissioner of Revenue offices will have extended hours from December 1 to December 5, 2025. They will remain open until 7 p.m. to help residents meet the tax payment deadline. Personal property taxes and the second installment of real estate taxes are due by Friday, December 5, 2025. Residents can use the new online payment portal. The portal offers free ACH transfers and a $7 flat fee for credit card payments.
Government offices and the Bedford Area Welcome Center will have special holiday hours. For Christmas, offices will close at noon on December 24 and stay closed through December 26, 2025. The Waste Management Facility and gated waste convenience centers will close only on December 25.
