Toledo Residents: Federal Funding Opportunities Announced for Local Housing and Community Programs

The City of Toledo has announced the availability of federal funding for three programs: the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), and HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) for the 2026 program year. The funding period is from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027, and depends on allocations from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

For the CDBG program, the city will prioritize applications that address housing preservation, public service, and neighborhood revitalization. Eligible applicants include 501(c)3 organizations, other nonprofits, government agencies, and certified Community Based Development Organizations (CBDOs). Projects in Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Areas and those led by certified CBDOs will receive additional attention. New applicants must attend the Toledo Neighborhood Capacity Building Institute and complete a concept meeting with the Department of Housing and Community Development.

A required application meeting for CDBG non-homeless service providers will be held on January 9, 2026, at the Toledo Lucas County Main Library. Open office hours for new applicants are on January 21, 2026, at One Government Center. A training session is scheduled for January 22, 2026. All CDBG applications must be submitted through Zoomgrants by 4:45 p.m. on February 6, 2026…
