Watch your speed: Cameras on I-380 in Cedar Rapids turned back on Tuesday

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Two of the four traffic cameras along the Interstate 380 turned back on Tuesday, Dec. 2 and will start issuing warnings until next month.

The cameras had been turned off following the passage of a new state law in 2024 that gave Iowa DOT the power to regulate where speed cameras could operate.

The two cameras on I-380 northbound at Diagonal Drive and southbound at J Avenue were allowed to continue issuing tickets and still do for speeders going 11 miles an hour over the speed limit.
