‘Faces of Arkansas’ program to honor everyday heroes

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KAIT) – Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced a new program Monday that will shine a light on average citizens making a major impact on the Natural State.

According to Monday’s news release, the Faces of Arkansas will feature individuals who represent the state’s very best—“ordinary people doing extraordinary things through resilience, everyday kindness and compassion, dedication, leadership and service.”

The series kicks off with Cheron Atkins-Butcher, a fifth-grade teacher at Sherwood Elementary School.

Her portrait and story, along with subsequent Faces of Arkansas, will be displayed at the entrance to the governor’s office…
