DENVER (KDVR) — A driver in Commerce City is facing a child abuse charge after allegedly driving 100mph down a highway with a toddler unsecured in his backseat, officials said.
A Commerce City police officer pulled the driver over on Monday after seeing him driving 100 mph on Colorado 2 through the city, the police department said in a Facebook post. The driver also has a 2-year-old boy in the backseat, not strapped into his car seat.
“Why are you driving like that, bro,” the officer can be heard on body-worn camera asking the driver. “You have a kid with you. What’s going to happen when you crash going 100 mph? He’s gonna get killed.”…
