DENVER (KDVR) — A shuttered historic hotel in Denver has finally reopened — and it looks similar to when it was first built in 1956.
La Vista Motel, which sits on East Colfax Avenue in the middle of the Hale, South Park and Montclair neighborhoods, was first built in 1956 as a 23-room boutique property. The motel said it was recognized as an official Denver historic landmark, but for years, it was closed.

The motel said it’s now listed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior, and it has managed to keep the 23-guest boutique with the restored iconic sign. The motel said the design includes salvaged artwork, furniture and other pieces from antique stores and resellers to keep the vintage theme. There are some modern touches like free Wi-Fi and self-check-in.
