Asheville house a total loss, 1 displaced after 8 crews put out late-night fire

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A late-night fire on Dec. 1 in Asheville destroyed a home and displaced one occupant, according to the Riceville Fire Department.

Riceville Fire Department Chief Tom Kelly told News 13 on Dec. 2 that his unit was the first to arrive at the scene at 19 Old Wolfe Road, which is off Lower Grassy Branch Road.

“The call came in on Dec. 1 at just after 10 p.m., and it was a chimney fire with fire inside the wall. When we arrived, there was fire visible coming through the roof,” Kelly said…
