Salvation Army invites community to ‘Give with Joy’ this Giving Tuesday

CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Salvation Army in Clarksville is calling on generous hearts across the community to make a difference this Giving Tuesday, taking place on Tuesday, Dec. 2. This Global Day of Generosity, following the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, encourages individuals, families, and businesses to give back to causes that strengthen their communities.

Giving Tuesday began in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over time, it has evolved into a worldwide movement of generosity that inspires millions to give, collaborate, and celebrate kindness.

This year, philanthropic giving is down significantly, while the need – and the cost to help – continues to rise. The Salvation Army is urging the community to Give with Joy this Giving Tuesday, inspired by the scripture 2 Corinthians 9:7: “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”…
