Suspect with active Polk County warrants dies after crashing stolen motorcycle: PCSO

LAKELAND, Fla. (WFLA) — A suspect with several active warrants out of Polk County died in a motorcycle crash over the weekend, officials said.

Kyle Cole, 26, had close to a dozen outstanding warrants stemming from two separate investigations, and was driving a stolen 2024 Suzuki motorcycle when the crash happened on Saturday, Nov. 29, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Witnesses told deputies Cole had been tailgating another vehicle and lost control of the motorcycle as he was heading east on Knights Station Road, just west of Harrelson Road in north Lakeland.

The motorcycle flipped onto its left side, throwing Cole onto the road, and officials said the driver of a Jeep Cherokee may have hit the bike. The Jeep driver remained on scene and cooperated with law enforcement, according to authorities…
