A suspected burglar was apprehended after using a stone to cut through a screen in a lanai and unlawfully entering a home in The Villages.
Jeanne Trusewicz, 49, was apparently attempting to steal a golf cart when she cut her way into the lanai in the wee hours Monday at a home on Victor Court in the Village of DeLuna near the Water Lily Recreation Center, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.
A homeowner had observed Trusewicz trying to detach a trailer from a golf cart. She had used a sharp rock from the home’s landscaping bed to cut through the lanai screen.
When police arrived and took Trusewicz into custody, she was in possession of the golf cart’s key and a sickle-style tool, which she had admitted she had taken from the home…
