City, Rock Church among parties to agree to $21.5M in tentative settlements in murder of 11-year-old Arabella McCormack

SAN DIEGO — The city of San Diego has tentatively agreed to pay $10 million, the Rock Church has tentatively agreed to pay $3 million, and a homeschool academy has agreed to pay $8.5 million to the young sisters of Arabella McCormack, who died in August 2022, according to court documents, from severe malnutrition and abuse at the hands of their adoptive parents, Brian and Leticia McCormack.

The tentative settlements were discussed during a December 2 court hearing and still need final approval from all parties and the court.

The $21.5 million in tentative payouts does not include the yet-to-be-disclosed settlement agreement from the County of San Diego…
