FORT WORTH, Texas — Detective Thomas O’Brien grew up surrounded by law enforcement and says the field runs in his family. His stepfather worked in the profession, and his grandfather spent three decades with the LAPD, shaping the path that eventually led him to the Fort Worth Police Department’s Homicide Unit.
“My stepdad was in law enforcement, my grandfather, 30 years at LAPD,” O’Brien said. “I’ve kind of always had it around me.”
