$10,000 Reward For Information About Auto Thieves Who Killed Man In Bridgeport

Cook County Crime Stoppers is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the identification of the crew that killed a 26-year-old man during a violent auto theft encounter in Bridgeport last year.

Aric White Jr. died after gunmen opened fire on him and his girlfriend while the couple searched for his stolen SUV at 3 a.m. on May 6, 2024, according to the organization. White’s SUV had been taken minutes earlier, causing him and his girlfriend to use her car to search for it.

As they drove through the neighborhood, Crime Stoppers reported seeing a caravan of suspected vehicle thieves in a red Jeep, a black Dodge Challenger, and a light-colored Chevy SUV. Someone in that group opened fire, hitting White and his girlfriend. She was struck in the arm and survived. White was shot in the head while driving and collided into a home in the 3100 block of South May Street…
