Catoosa County man learns his prison fate for brutal attack on girlfriend

CATOOSA COUNTY, Ga. — A Catoosa County man will spend years in prison after a jury convicted him of a brutal attack on his girlfriend earlier this year.

The attack unfolded in January when deputies say 53-year-old Shane Murray Bowling fired a gun into the yard, then held a handgun to his girlfriend’s head, slammed her face into the floor, and dragged her by her hair inside the home.

The attack took place back on January 17th, when a deputy responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired at a residence. As he approached, he heard shouting and a heavy thump from inside.
