Seminole woman who wanted to ‘sacrifice’ husband and son tried to strangle nurse, police say

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (WFLA) — A Pinellas County woman accused of attempting to “sacrifice” her husband was arrested again on Wednesday after police said she tried to strangle a nurse.

Karen Dedert, 58, attacked a nurse at Windmoor Healthcare and used the power cord from her ankle monitor to strangle her, according to the Pinellas Park Police Department.

Police said the nurse was injured in the incident. Dedert was charged with attempted murder.

This comes nearly one month after Dedert was charged with attempted murder after her husband was found outside their home with a gash on his forearm. The victim told Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office detectives that he woke up to Dedert standing over him and asking, “Where is our son?”…
