Gainesville Police are investigating a violent attack that unfolded late Tuesday night, December 2nd, on the city’s southwest side. Officers were called just after 9:30 p.m. to the 1200 block of SW 16th Avenue for a reported aggravated assault and battery.
When officers arrived, they spoke with witnesses and the victim and learned that the suspect, 34-year-old Anquitte Quinn, had shown up uninvited at the victim’s home. According to police, Quinn challenged the victim to a fight, then pulled out a firearm, pointed it at her and threatened to shoot. A witness recorded the confrontation on video and handed the footage over to officers at the scene.
As the victim tried to walk away, the situation escalated even further. Investigators say Quinn got into her vehicle, accelerated toward the victim and struck her. The impact pushed the victim onto the hood of the car, where she held on while Quinn continued driving. Quinn then hit the brakes hard, sending the victim onto the pavement before speeding away…
