Central Florida Man Arrested for Stealing Fire Engine, Causing Hit-and-Run

A Central Florida man was arrested for stealing a fire engine and causing a hit-and-run crash.

Tampa Police officers quickly recovered the stolen fire engine and arrested the suspect after the incident.

Preliminary information suggested that at approximately 9:25am, 59-year-old Warren Scudder stole the local fire engine while firefighters were inside St. Joseph’s Hospital. According to local law enforcement, Scudder drove off, crashing into a gray Lexus SUV near Dr. King Blvd and MacDill Ave.

The adult male driver of the Lexus reported hip pain following the collision and was medically evaluated by hospital staff…
