A man from northern Wisconsin is taking sustainability to the extreme — and even a little wild. Robin Greenfield of Washburn has committed to eating only what he forages from nature for an entire year. That means no grocery stores, no restaurants, not even a home garden — just wild plants, mushrooms, nuts, and other foods provided by Earth.
Greenfield has already spent months roaming woods and wetlands across the Northland, collecting everything from wild rice and mushrooms to herbs, fresh fruits, vegetables, and even natural salt. As winter sets in, he’s now relying fully on what he hunted and harvested earlier.
