Police investigate Kansas City building fire that killed one man

A man is dead after a building fire in Kansas City Tuesday morning.

The Kansas City Fire Department responded around 7:48 a.m. to the 3200 block of East 26th Street, where they saw smoke coming from a single-story building, according to Michael Hopkins, KCFD Battalion Chief .

Firefighters on the scene found a man in his mid-fifties inside the burning building . He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead, according to Hopkins…
