DIA refreshes 2 Concourse C concessions: 125 employees face layoffs

DENVER (KDVR) — Temporary closures of the Timberline Bar and Grille and Einstein Bros. Bagels on Concourse C at Denver International Airport will lead to over 100 employees facing temporary work shortages.

According to DIA officials, the Timberline Bar and Grille and Einstein Bros. Bagels will be closing on Dec. 31 as part of DIA’s Concessions refresh and redevelopment program.

“DEN was originally built for 50 million passengers,” a DIA spokesperson told FOX31. “Current day, the airport is planning for 100 million passengers through our Vision 100 strategic plan. DEN’s layout of the infrastructure is a ‘typical’ layout for a large hub airport. Designing the ultimate concession experience is inherently easier in newly built areas. However, a significant focus of our efforts remains on modernizing the legacy sections of our concourses to align with the core planning principles outlined in our concessions master plan. We are continually strategizing ways to maximize the potential of the existing footprint.”…
